Distribution is the biggest hurdle facing a grassroots initiative like Zaytoun. We owe our success to the many (extra)ordinary individuals from all walks of life, who have come forward and offered to distribute Palestinian olive oil from their homes, their workplaces, churches, mosques, synagogues and at community events; plus those who have encouraged their food stores to sell our products. We are keen to maintain our “grassroots” contacts, and will continue to supply solidarity and fair trade distributors.

We need more distributors across the UK. Current stockists are on http://www.zaytoun.org/sellers.php. There is no lengthy commitment, we are happy to hear from people who are interested in distributing just one order from us.

* You can choose to have your details publicised on the Zaytoun website and for us to redirect enquirers to you, or not.
* If you choose to sell products at a higher “retail” price, you could use the surplus as you wish, for example, to repay your expenses, to keep as profit, to reinvest in your solidarity network or to “twin” your network with a Palestinian project.
* If you are investing in a solidarity project and would like to publicise it, we’d love to put that up on our website, for instance, one of our Surrey distributors is using the proceeds to sponsor six Palestinian children from Gaza.
* Your active contribution to Zaytoun’s successes.

Expectations of distributors
# A little storage. 500ml bottles come pre-packed in boxes of 12. The boxes are 26cm high x 24cm wide x 18cm deep. It is possible to fit 16 boxes in the boot of a small hatch-back car.
# Individual distributors are expected to take orders on the phone or e-mail. Individual buyers from your area would collect from you, unless you opt to transport the oil yourself.
# There is no delivery charge for orders over £550. Orders under £550 incur delivery charges based on weight (£15-£50), in order to keep costs down and to encourage customers to source their olive oil through shops and regional distributors.
# Delivery to your address can be expected within 7 to 10 days of placing your order.
# We expect payment upon ordering or delivery, by bank transfer or £cheque. Other arrangements, such as post-dated cheques, can be negotiated in exceptional circumstances.
